Shenandoah National Park is the place to take in autumn foliage. Visitors can expect a canvas of bright yellows, burning oranges, and deep reds. Peak colors in the upper elevations begin early to mid-October with lower elevations peaking at the end of October to November.

10. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountains is both beautiful and busy this time of year. The annual show of fall colors attracts huge numbers of sightseers, especially during the last three weeks of October. Peak times for higher elevation range from early to mid-October while mid to lower elevations hit peak their between mid-October to early November.
